I’m glad you found your way here! My name is Peter Lewis and I am a Christian, husband, father, and friend (in that order). Beyond that is work and play, of course, but that stuff pales in comparison to those primary roles.
I love being a husband and a father, and for many years now I have been working quietly in my spare time to create a way to reach out to fathers and families everywhere. I wanted to combine my years of experience as a professional writer, editor, and designer, to build a ministry of encouragement that would help dads do their jobs well. Being a dad can be lonely, frustrating, scary and a little insecure sometimes—so I set out to build a web-based place for men and their families to find strength and support and cheer, a place to learn and to smile and to laugh and perhaps even shed a tear or two.
And so, you now hold in your hands (so to speak), the fruits of my labors for these last few years: THE DAD STORY PROJECT (TDSP). The idea is so simple as to be laughable: use the shared stories of everyday parenting to build each other up. I’ll write some of the stories, and all you out there will (collectively) write many more. Together we will build a great storehouse of memories: lessons taught and lessons learned; of happy moments and sad; of triumphs, near-misses and loss; of challenges met and overcome, of things hoped for and things found, of words and prayers and thoughts and deeds. I believe that being a good dad is not the happenstance of biology, but a calling directly from God—join me now in making fatherhood all it can be.
